JPS,JRH Yea, I'm into margin on 3Com since October of 97 and have taken a hit but I still believe that 3Com can pull it off. I have followed the networking companies since 1990 and like Cisco and 3Com the most. As you can tell these are the top two companies in networking. Cisco specializes in the core where the margins are greatest and 3Com at the edge where the margins are the smallest. Both are converging and will succeed in the long run. Ascend and Bay will have difficulty surviving due to their business models. I enjoy watching this unfold since I have been following the communications field for about 20+ years as an engineer. (and now a serious investor the last 20 years!) Eric
