Somebody correct me after I finish mangling Marx:

"Religion is the opiate of the masses."

Asbestos Undies ON!

"The trouble with Communism is the Communists, just as the trouble with Christianity is the Christians."

"Say what you will about the Ten Commandments, you must always come back to the pleasant fact that there are only ten of them."

"I believe that religion, generally speaking, has been a curse to mankind--that its modest and greatly overestimated services on the ethical side have been more than overcome by the damage it has done to
clear and honest thinking."

"I detest converts almost as much as I do missionaries."

"The chief contribution of Protestantism to human thought is its massive proof that God is a bore."

----------------

The biggest conflict I have had is, I was never sure whether to ally with Communists in order to eliminate Religion, or ally with the Pope, to eliminate Communists....

Gorbachev became my all time hero, because he facilitated the identification of the true enemy.

Communism is all but death now... its cousin Collectivism, Socialism
and the like, will continue to exists, but will experience a slow death.

Free markets, Libertarian ideas, and most importantly the realization that it is the individual, and the value of one own's existence TODAY, not in the hereafter, together with the elimination of the idea of self-immolation, will give whoever wants to embrace such ideas the freedom to pursue a better existence.

The true enemy of reason is religion, no question in my mind.

I am personally flabbergasted and surprised by the re-emergence of religious fanatics in the USA. The country of free thought, free enterprise and [at one point], of reason.

They are, in my opinion, not only ridiculous but they are dangerous.

I sincerely hope that this is a mere temporary fad and that reason will ultimately prevail....

I will now step down from my soap box.
