Thomas:

First, those that believe in irrational ideas that are individuals are called lunatics. Next, those that believe in irrational ideas that belong to a group are labelled the lunatic fringe. Finally, those that believe in irrational ideas that are in a REALLY big group that has been around awhile are accepted by society, although their irrationality is no less than the smaller groups who believe in a different irrational idea. These larger groups are called the world's major "religions".

Second, my rights have been violated in many ways. My freedoms are becoming more and more limited within the structure of this society and much of it can be traced back to religious groups. A few historical examples from this century:

1. It was a lobby of religious groups that originally petitioned congress from the late 1800s through 1914 to pass a bill authorizing an illegal, unconstitutional taxing of individual income. The bill passed (not without a healthy helping of lies and subterfuge) thus paving the way for our beloved IRS and all the true robber-baron antics the federal government has hoodwinked the American people with -- like massive redistribution of wealth campaigns and criminal social programs. All violating the spirit, intent and even written guidelines of the freedomfighters of the Revolutionary War.

2. Again, a coalition of church groups and ministers relying on the scriptures were able to get congress to pass prohibition effectively outlawing alcohol which was a violation of the constitution, even though they found illegal ways to try to make it seem legal. That was repealed, but in a free society it should never have happened.

3. What wasn't repealed was the christian coalition (of the late 1800s to 1930s) campaign against cocaine and marijuana, which was legal since the beginnings of America. They eventually lost in their campaign against alcohol (while turning a blind eye to the fact that their avowed leader, Jesus, actually drank wine himself), but succeeded in their campaign against cocaine and marijuana. Thus setting the stage for a huge criminal class to develop where none was before (similar to the Mafia, which was relatively weak and disorganized until the days of Prohibition) and flooding our jails with people who would've been considered good citizens 70 - 80 years ago, causing the government to create statist-like organizations such as the DEA, creating seizure laws which are a DIRECT violation of the Constitution, and so much more I cannot begin to continue without this post becoming twenty times the size that it is now.

4. Many of the christian groups (but not all) petitioned and supported the Unconstitutional and illegal detention of Japanese-Americans in work camps during WWII, plus the confiscation of all their property (which was never returned to them) and the passing of that property in many, many cases to church community groups of other Americans whom I believe were actually traitors to their country for helping or allowing their government to perpetrate these grossly illegal acts on other Americans.

The list goes on and on. . .
