Even though nobody nibbled on my first BROD post I thought somebody might be interested in this explanation from Bloomberg Online of the 19% pop Friday.

Broderbund Software Inc. (BROD): The entertainment- and education-software maker's shares may continue to rise on speculation that it will be acquired after the company canceled an appearance at an investment conference. Broderbund rose 3 1/4 to 20 3/16.

Internet Shorters,
We've all seen the TA on the internet rockets. Now here's some FA from Bloomberg on a potential short candidate.

Network Solutions Inc. (NSOL): The provider of Internet domain-name registration worldwide is seen falling back to its initial public offering price of $18 a share, Barron's reported in its "Up & Down Wall Street" column. The company, currently the only one authorized to register Internet domain names, will lose its monopoly in September, and Mike Murphy of the Overpriced Stock Service said he expects the stock to fall as a result. Network Solutions fell 1 1/4 to 39 7/8.
