Packard Bell: Cyrix Switch a Business Decision

207.240.177.145

Packard Bell is not planning any 350MHz or 400MHz systems, either. "The top end has come out of retail," he said. "We're doing a 400MHz Pentium II in the (higher end) NEC Ready line, but that's flagship." Packard Bell's line tops off with a 333MHz Pentium II.

Pointing to inevitable price cuts from Intel, he said the company will probably do a 400MHz Pentium II, "when we can get it to a reasonable pricing level.
At $2,399, we feel there's not much market for that."

Slot 1 is a whole lot more difficult for NSM to implement. Any movement to it by NSM might delay the introduction of the MXi or Cayenne.
I understand that VIA and Ali have Slot one chipsets ready but to my knowledge there is no agreement with Intel yet.
What about the K6-3?
