Night Writer,

Being a pretty good detective, I can tell you this. If the laptop is the only thing they got, then that rules out service men, burglers etc. It leaves out old boyfriends as things change too rapidly to take chances. This only leaves people that have been in your house very recently and knew exactly what they were looking for. If your daughter had a group of friends over recently, it is probably one of them. Tip, if you have the serial No. recorded somewhere it might come in handy. If they sign on to anything that reads the windows registration, you might get lucky and find it. Ask your daughter which of her friends is obsessed with computers. Good luck, the same thing happend to me, and we caught them 2 days later. Turned out to be a boy that was only in our house 1 time and came back and robbed us that night!
