Elmer,

You are right I have only seen estimates too, but I expect real numbers very shortly. On an aside Spec is kinda pointless for server.. what you really need to look at is TPM for server performance.

Elmer - Re: "Where are the 21264 benchmarks?"

The 21264 was designed and built initially on a 0.35 micron process. Although the clock speeds were "OK", the die size and performance were not quite up to expectations.

DEC new they had to get to a better process technology - but their own Fab/development program wasn't prepared to make the rapid technological changes. To that end, DEC needed a world class technology - and that is what drove them to engage Intel in a law suit and ultimately finesse Intel into taking their Hudson fab off their hands (and BOOKS !).

DEC is fully counting on Intel to upgrade that Fab to 0.25 micron process technology with high performance/high yields and provide DEC with a suitable process to get the 21264 "up" to performance level they envisioned.

I suspect high performance 21264/0.25 micron devices won't be readily available until the Intel process is up and running in Fab 17 - Intel's new name for the Hudson plant.
