Yes, a major PWC magazine does an entire feature article on spark plug "reading"! Despite the usage of modern high energy ignitions, plug fouling is a constant problem. Funny how most are hardly aware of spark plugs these days, with some cars not requiring their replacement for 100,000 miles! I can tell you first hand that you don't go out in a PWC with AT LEAST one spare set of plugs - I generally take two sets (it's a lot harder to swim home than walk home). And if you spend any appreciable length of time idling, I can GUARANTEE you they will foul. This is so common that most PWC's come with a spare set of plugs from the factory (and the tools to install them). When was the last time a new car came with spare plugs?
