I downloaded a Virtual file last night, and when I tried to install it I get a message saying I need version 1.0.4.1 of QP2 in order to continue installation (I have version 2.0.0.0) I called tech support today and was told the download site is being changed. Until then I can only use my data with QP program because of hard drive space requirements of metastock format directories. Hope they get this resolved soon. So far they've been very responsive to problems which is very encouraging.

Peter

There are a few features of QPV I was not aware of that other users may need to know so no one else goes down the same path I did. QPV allows reading of the QP data, but it apparently does not support writing QP data. I was hoping to be able to build a QPV database of IRL industry groups, modify the members of the groups and have the IRL program rebuild the group ranks. Unfortunately the IRL program tries to insert a file called "index" into each industry group as it does the ranking. This file is a regular MS format file, which causes IRL to hang when it tries to write to the QPV defined directory. I confirmed the "non-writability" by trying to modify a QPV file with MS Downloader (which caused a file error). The Tech Support people at QP also confirmed it. So....any modifications to QP files (or QPV files) must be done via QP. I hope Gary plans to add ability of other programs to write to QPV files (and create new files) soon.....
