To me the fact that General Magic's Portico is mentioned in this article gives recognition to the fact that General Magic already is a main player. Motorola may be a great company but I had a personal experience with two of their products that soured me on buying anything from them again. The competing Panasonic cordless phone that I bought is far superior to the Motorola that I still have but never use anymore, which I might ad was the most expensive phone in the store at the time I bought it. I suppose this is another simplistic way of looking at this situation but competition from Motorola does not concern me, and one thing for sure with companies like this in the running it sure will bring a lot more attention to General Magic. Who can think of a product or service that there is not competition ? We all have different tastes and preferences, if we didn't there would be no need for competition in anything.
