How can GM be rejecting things not invented there, when they now require parts manufacturers such as Magna International, TRW, DANA, etc to design parts for them. GM has Billions of $$$ in Cash. They teamed up with Toyota to spread the research $$$ around since they alreay team up with Toyota on a number of vehicles (Corolla/Prizm) and parts. GM spends more on IC R&D than Fuel Cells where the pay off is still many years away. cl >>> Second, it demonstrates how difficult FC development must actually be; GM, long known for its rejection of things NIH ("Not Invented Here") has now officially thrown in the towel. The job is obviously too big/difficult/expensive to accomplish by themselves.<<<
