Well, heck ... I tried riding bare footed, but the hot pavement burned the bottoms of my feet. I thought I'd try out some boots, but the ol' cowboy who was wearing them was very reluctant to let me take them off his feet. The only option left was my dress shoes, which I hadn't worn since I went to church in the 7th grade. Maybe you're right. They could have been the problem.
