Mylex RAID Controller Helps HP Achieve World Record TPC-C Performance Results for 8-Way Servers

FREMONT, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 3, 1998--
mylex.com
From the article: "...HP's record TPC-C results show the combination of Mylex's unmatched RAID performance and the high performance of HP's NetServer LXr Pro8 system, which achieved 16,257 tpmC (transactions per minute) at a cost of only $33.67/tpmC. Mylex's DAC960SX was also instrumental in attaining this Hewlett-Packard record-breaking result..."

HP's official TPC-C report can be found at: tpc.org.

=====================================================================

Perhaps there is some hope that MYLEX may obtain some (indirect) sales from HWP NetServer owners. I thought all HWP business was gone. The article does not state that HWP is an OEM customer but only that their new product helps HP achieve these record performance results.

Thanks, your insight is appreciated. I certainly am hoping Mylex can at least match last quarters gross sales. In the first quarter conference call Al Montross indicated that DEC was at least solid for the first two quarters and, after that, he seemed to be cautiously optimistic that due to the quality of the Mylex's product that CPQ would be foolish to change a winning combination i.e.DEC/Mylex.

It would be nice if some HWP business came back. I seem to recall Al was going to "personally" work on this - would have it back by Dec. 31, 97 (didn't happen). Hope he's still working on it.

Ditto, bought more at $5.25. Upside is definately there. I made
several calls to people in the industry. The AcceleRAID product
(just announced) looks like a revenue builder.

Stay tuned.
