Steve - Re: "There are a lot of power hungry wealthy companies out
there that will buy NSM or AMD at the last minute before bancrupcy. And some of these companies have REALLY DEEP POCKETS. (NEC, IBM, STM, Siemens, etc.). "

Oh, yes do they EVER have deep pockets!

Didn't IBM introduce a PowerPC chip, along with Motorola and Apple to really devastate Intel?

How much did IBM spend on that SUCCESSFUL project!

NEC - a big customer for Intel chips!

Siemens - a big customer for Intel chips - and THEY ALREAD USED TO OWN 20% of AMD! They sold it years ago!

STM - they could have bought Cyrix years ago - and they didn't!

Bow, I ask you, would you pay good money for a company that is LOSING money and has no competitive advantage over its rivals?

Paul

Steve,
What do you think about the possibility of couple of motherboard manufacturers get together to buy out AMD or NSM ?
Don't forget Taiwan made most of the motherboards !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!That is a big possibility. They missed NexGen couple years ago !!!!
