Hey DJ; do u believe this article?

they said '97 was the year then '98, then second
half of '98 now they are saying maybe second half of '99...
wanna bet on that prediction...i hope you dont place
bets on these articles cause thats gotta hurt the account....
listen to what the companies are saying, even the most pimpish
whore is starting to admit things are tough and will stay that way...
SIA last week says "global chip sales in April fell .5% from March
and 6.8% from April 97."
ASMLF, AMAT, INTC, etc. the warnings are on the walls
you go ahead and believe DRAMS will be profitable and prices
will go up...my ? to u is, go up to what, $2, maybe $2.50 what kind of
profit is that. One day DRAMS are just going to be part of the
boards that get placed in these PC boxes and they wont cost a thing.

anyway good trading

DJ, Who is this geek from Backward Concepts? DRAM sure isn't going to come roaring back next year. In 2002, maybe. But not next year.
The TI deal is more likely to fall through because MU has no cash and who is his right mind wants this crappy stock? Of course, TXN has done little lately to support the "right mind" theory. <G>

dj, i told you when the deal was announced it was a fraud. not b/c people will mint money next year. they won't. these are the same dopes that said mu would make $700 million THIS YEAR. NOT! ;-)

as long as companies invest like next year is the year then profits are postponed. i read that 64 mb production through 1999 was 20% higher than expected demand.

the REAL reason is mu can't afford to buy anything. you heard it here first.

DJ ... the article about the 'possible' Micron-TI deal was interesting .... illustrates how divorced from reality some of these analysts are ... eg. Bill Strauss of Forward Concepts saying that because the DRAM market may come charging back next year (and it may if some of the weak players like MU drop out) TI has a 'tough decision' to make as to whether to sell its DRAM operations .... earth to Bill, earth to Bill, come in Bill ... oops we seem to have lost him ... management at TI made this 'tough decision' a long time ago ... they are gone, it's just a question of finding buyers ... and MU is not a buyer, not a real buyer (no cash, stock is grotesquely overvalued) ... IMO the only way a so-called 'deal' is going to happen is if TI pays MU to take over the assets ... why not just close 'em down and write 'em off instead?

'hey, it is only an inventory correction, right (the Lehi warehouse manager)?'
