Good evening everyone. It seems we have had quite a bit of conjecture about our (some of us) Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Some have obviously not read his holy word or they would realize that God is love but he has more of a personality than that. If he were only love than he would not be able to judge in righteous anger those that sin without prejudious or guilt. A few would have you believe that the authors of the bible were only small groups of men and women that were superstitious liars. But I, and many others that have read and studied his holy word know it to be absolute truth through conviction of God's Holy Spirit. Those of you that are weighing the comments on this thread by unbelievers and falsehoods spread about our precious Lord must be in a state of confusion by now. I ask one thing of you. Please find your bible and go to 1 Corinthians, chapter 15 and read what the man Paul had to say about our belief in the resurrection of Jesus. The fact that our Savior rose from the grave was acknowledged by the 12 apostles, including James, the Lord's half brother and over 500 of his followers. Paul was the perfect choice to preach the gospel to us because he was born a Roman citizen and taught about the Jewish faith by the Sanhedrin. He was thus a Jew by birth and a Gentile by law. Paul tells us we are to be the most pitied of all men if we do not believe in the resurrection and have hope for this life only. Please put yourself in Paul's place and imagine that you were a perscutor of Jesus and his followers. What would cause you to change your mind and believe in Jesus to the point of beatings by the cat of nine tails and to be starved and hunted like a dog by the Romans and Jewish Pharisees and be put in prison and crucified for your belief in the man Jesus? Would you relent to save your life. Or, like Paul who knew he had eternal life in Jesus refuse to deny him? I pasted part of 1 Cor. 15 for those that do not have their bible handy. Please read it with alacrity because it could save your very soul if you are confused by what has been said by the false prophets on this thread. "15:1 Now, brothers, I want to remind you of the gospel I preached to you, which you received and on which you have taken your stand. 2 By this gospel you are saved, if you hold firmly to the word I preached to you. Otherwise, you have believed in vain. 3 For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance : that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, 4 that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures, 5 and that he appeared to Peter, and then to the Twelve. 6 After that, he appeared to more than five hundred of the brothers at the same time, most of whom are still living, though some have fallen asleep. 7 Then he appeared to James, then to all the apostles, 8 and last of all he appeared to me also, as to one abnormally born. 9 For I am the least of the apostles and do not even deserve to be called an apostle, because I persecuted the church of God. 10 But by the grace of God I am what I am, and his grace to me was not without effect. No, I worked harder than all of them--yet not I, but the grace of God that was with me. 11 Whether, then, it was I or they, this is what we preach, and this is what you believed. 12 But if it is preached that Christ has been raised from the dead, how can some of you say that there is no resurrection of the dead? 13 If there is no resurrection of the dead, then not even Christ has been raised. 14 And if Christ has not been raised, our preaching is useless and so is your faith. 15 More than that, we are then found to be false witnesses about God, for we have testified about God that he raised Christ from the dead. But he did not raise him if in fact the dead are not raised. 16 For if the dead are not raised, then Christ has not been raised either. 17 And if Christ has not been raised, your faith is futile; you are still in your sins. 18 Then those also who have fallen asleep in Christ are lost. 19 If only for this life we have hope in Christ, we are to be pitied more than all men. 20 But Christ has indeed been raised from the dead, the firstfruits of those who have fallen asleep." God bless and keep you all. In Christ, James
