Ted,

You should never double up, average down, etc.. if this means
committing significant $ into a particular stock. If instead
you have stayed diversified, with cash available, and you see
good fundamentals, improving market condition, etc... then
averaging down(or up) is ok. But, I myself still see
a deteriorating market condition for graphics chips.

Too me its a gamble here... basically if the FTC comes down on
InHell, then there is cause for some upside in S3. But
this is not under S3's control, neither do i see any
significant source of increased earnings for S3 in the
near future.

I say your gambling if you are doubling down... might as
well go to vegas and see your results instantly!

Sid

Hi Ted,

I added to my position @ 6 13/16 and 5 13/16. The price is still close enough to my last purchase where there isn't any real clear advantage for me to add to my position right now. If it drops another 1/2, I'll probably pick up some more. My first target for a sell would be a move above 7. I expect we'll see the kind of design win announcements and PR fluff that gets the day traders, momentum players and optimists all excited before the end of July. For now I'm mostly just killing time.

Regards,

Don

One mo thing: there was a lot of talk here when S3 was at 7-8 range, that some you you would be buying big in the unlikely event the stock dipped below 6. Well, you got your wish. I'm wondering if you followed thru--I am thinking about doing the same, i.e. doubling up.

I posted something like that on May 27, reply# 11059.

Yes I have taken action...$5 1/16 looked good to me with Taiwanese fabs making a recovery and the first announcement by Hercules of a Savage 3D board. There seems to be a huge bid supply at $5.00, a 40K trade at the bid didn't put a dent in it today. The bid at $5 was constantly over 10k shares.
