KJ,

That's why I asked him the follow up questions. Let's face it - we have been posting for months that the McData switch was "Brocade inside". The only temporary lapse was when Craig posted that they were coming up with their ASIC. That is clearly not the case. In the field of big time FC switching - this clarifies a lot. There are really only two competitive designs - Brocade and Ancor.

In my opinion it also greatly increases the risk of being an Ancor investor. McData is an OEM - I don't care what kind of spin you put on it. What's more is is much more dangerous competitively than Sequent.

I think Brocade has taken a new strategy - they are starting to keep OEMs quiet and keeping a low profile. You can argue the typical FC argument that there were NDAs in place. But if I wanted to maximize the run up on the IPO - I would time it to coincide with a point in time where you could argue there was in effect no competition. Getting IBM business would clearly put you at that point.

All in my opinion.
