Francis,

You are a pessimist - you need to be fair.

You said,

<Quite a few estimates for this Q are coming in the mid 0.60s.
To my mind this is more than "flat to slightly down" from Q1's
0.82. If these numbers are accurate then Intel should, in all
fairness, warn; otherwise the drop will be larger when the
quarterly results are released (1) for the bad numbers and (2)
for the surprise/uncertainty to the street. >

Maybe what you really meant was,

"Quite a few estimates for this Q are coming in the mid 0.60s.
To my mind this is more than "flat to slightly down" from Q1's
0.82. If these numbers are accurate then Intel should, in all
fairness, warn; otherwise Intel will beat the estimates"

Regards.

SK

In fairness to whom? A short seller?
If the numbers are accurate why should Intel warn. That would be a strange warning. The only two things that will matter is the consensus estimate vs actual and the outlook. Forget whatever Intel said last April.
