You have to go to preferences and enter your data. That's how this whole conversation started.

Did you get your e-mail alert to ungrey? I ran into this the first time I set mine up too. It's been a few months ago since I had it fixed ... if your problem is the same as mine was, you may need to verify some technical internet/ISP settings.

I got mine straightened out after a call to StockEdge and my ISP. Not sure exactly why the problem came about but it may have had something to do with using Netscape or I may have deleted a file inadvertently when flushing MS-Internet Explorer on my new machine. Anyway after I was guided through a few setting etc. and reinstalled a portion of MS windows I'm working now - their help got my alarm unghosted. I can still use Netscape, though it appears MS-Explorer presents itself when going to the private website.

I like the alarm feature - I think you might also want to make sure your net stays open by setting it to maximum time. I checked with my ISP to see if they had an arbitrary limit.
