Yes, it is good to have contacts, and friends. I understand you use the term palanca in V as we do in M‚xico. I hadn't been following the Crystallex story closely in recent weeks, being very busy, and that news came out of the blue.

My only regret is that I didn't express my confidence in its accuracy more forcefully, but it is not my custom to make unqualified statements of any kind. I did trust the source, though, and should have more strongly stressed that.

Looking back at the stock action on Wednesday leads me to believe that the news was out in some circles well before I heard it. The jump to 750,000 volume combined with the price fall Wed cannot be accounted for by the option exercise, which I understand was on Tuesday (? - not sure of that).

I'm just a private investor, not a broker or promoter, and as far as being an advisor goes, my smart friends don't listen to me -g-. But after a year and a half with a computer and access to the information the net provides, as well as SI, I'm still fascinated by the extent of information available, and quite addicted to the net. From here altavista.digital.com you can go anywhere. Of course, you must learn to be selective, the great majority is of no use. Here's an article touching on that by (I think) 'Moot' geocities.com

I have yet to take an intensive look at Diamondworks as you suggested in your private message two or three months ago. I likely will soon, I see that it closed at near a 52-week low on Friday, and its country risks seem to have been reduced lately. But, as you say, there are many others in the same situation - Rex and Southernera in the same business and vicinity along with virtually all commodity stocks. A few months ago I shifted from financial services stocks, largely banks, to commodity stocks - oil, gold, silver and uranium. Too soon, it seems, and at the moment there doesn't seem much difference between being too soon and being wrong. But all cycles peak and trough at some point, and one day (I think soon) the US$ will peak and begin its next slide. You might find this thread #Subject-21259 interesting - Bill Murphy is the partner of Frank Veneroso, and the thread is worth reading, in my opinion.

david, there is a DMW thread here on SI #Subject-9987 with only 74 posts. That can be a very positive indicator, as I've noticed an inverse relationship between internet interest and investment quality. None of my favourite companies - SU, CCO, MFL, CBI, etc - have many postings. I don't know how you feel about posting to the DMW thread, but many company representatives are here on SI #Subject-16262 and in my opinion it is a positive thing, it makes for a more useful thread.

I'm very sorry for those who took a loss in KRY, and believe that all of us who play the junior market will be affected, much more than with a PDG loss. It's another strike at the general confidence level, as you say. We need a couple of AQPs or DFRs to boost that confidence, along with a stronger trend in commodities. In the meantime, we would all do well to be cautious in our bottom-fishing, while remembering that the time to buy quality stocks is when the majority is selling them.

Quien no se arriesga no pasa la mar ;-) Salud, pesetas, amor y el tiempo para gozarlas!
