Quad

I was not sure how to read that comment

he said their were 3 levels of co's

top tier; leaders

middle; both design and fab but not big enough to really compete; at risk

lower; design but do not have the expense of their on fabs; the inference was positive

in saying that " the vulnerable companies...are those caught in the middle--those with less than $2 billion a year in revenues that rely on their own production facilities."

was he suggesting that they are vulnerable to going out of business or the ones most likely to be bought by a top tier company?

Thanks Q, I read that article over on the IDTI thread as well. Since I just had one stock bought out from me, I know it can happen.

One comment by the IDTI thread was they hoped their favorite chip makers were bought out by a big company rather than a couple of smaller ones getting together. I'll have to think about that a bit.

Best regards, Tom
