Terrence, I realize that the causes of the Civil War were complex, and had to do with states' rights as well as slavery. However, my point was that slavery was justified by Southern Christians as morally right. And all the Ku Klux Klanners are Christians!! Those are CROSSES they are burning during hate crimes. My broader point was that there is an assumption by conservative Christians that Christianity is the answer to the problems America has, and I believe this is simplistic. Do you have a problem with my primary point?
