Zeuspaul,

Embeded SCSI is certainly cheaper than addition PCI adapter...

Your concern about lack of external ports on builtin scsi chips is really not a concern. On a 2940UW. For example you have an internal 50 pin and 68 pin and an external connector (forget which size, thinks its 50pin mini-din). On this card and other you can only use 2 of three connectors or else your linear SCSI bus will become a three point star and be eltrecally unsound. Adaptec support will confirm this. Now you can choose to run the ports external by attaching a SCSI header instead of a standard ribbon cable. Installed two ASUS BX systems last week that were built like this. Therefore a dual channel 3940 might better fit your needs. expect to pay :)
