Thanks for the URLs. Watch data-networking space as well. ASPs about to go hell starting at the low end. Same old, same old....

CLOSE the PATENT OFFICE!

Ok Bilow, you win. All PC's will be reduced to
information appliances and massive integration
will drive them to a $29.95 price point. There
will be no more advancements in technology therefore
the high end segment will die. Everything will just
be reduced to information and it will be accessed
with an appliance. These appliances will just inform
each other that nothing has changed. Games will cease to
be more realistic, advancements in aeronautics,
medicine, transportation and entertainment will
stop and everything we know as a civilization will
be packaged on a CDROM set free with a tank of
gas at Texaco.

Clearly, all advancements in our society cease
by xmas this year, only companies who sell
perishables will be able to stay in business
because there wont be anything new to buy.
All we will need is food, shelter and information.

Everyone will want a $29.95 appliance and they
wont pay a penny more. Especially corporations
who will all change their core business to
accessing information. Dell and Intel will be the
first casualties while the smart companies like CPQ,
Acer etc. who had the vision and guts to drive
themselves out of business will perish more slowly.
LEDGEND computers will become king. They will
crank out 1Billion appliances a year and have
an annual revenue of 29.9Billion.

Then we will discover that we dont even need
information because we wont need to make
decisions because there wont be anything to
decide because all decisions have been made.
Then the $29.99 PC business will die.

This will lead to boredom, social unrest, world
war and ultimately nuclear anhialation. The
planet will blow up and we'll all die. And it
will all have been Michael Dell's fault.

There. Are you and Techie happy now?
