Would like to ask a more or less technical question on this thread regarding Windows 98 & Netscape Navigator.

I am about to purchase a new Dell notebook computer & am being presented with the option of purchasing either with Windows 98 system installed or with Windows 95 installed plus the Windows 98 upgrade packet.

I presently use Navigator 3.01 & have not found Internet Explorer 4.0 to my liking. I don't like the apparent merging of the interface of my desktop files & my internet bookmarks.

Given the above, I am loath to be stuck with Windows 98 if I cannot operate Navigator (& Netscape Mail) successfully. The Dell rep is stating that a Windows 98 installation is cleaner than a Windows 98 upgrade on top of a Windows 95 installation, but I find this comment suspect.

Question: Given my concerns, do the benefits offered Windows 98 outweigh my concerns over operability of Navigator 3.01. All comments welcome. Thanks in advance.
