The Univision color commentator gives credit to Veron for an absolutely masterful control of mid-field. Japan was playing well for first 10-15 minutes, but is looking tired; began fouling soon thereafter. Bati-gol was were he had to be; great chip shot for the lead. Going to be an awesome 2nd half!!!!!

Argentina-Japan:1-0

Argentina should feel very lucky to come out with a win. I was impressed by Japan's performance. This was their first game in the World Cup and showed no fear. If they were just a little better in finishing they could easily come out with a tie. The Japanese seemed much better than the Koreans when Korea I believe pretty much owns them (That shows how that red card was so crucial). Argentina did not convince me. They do not seem good enough to go all the way. Then again this World Cup seems to be wide open who is going to win it no particular team shows dominance yet. Batistuta again was superb. Ortega:who said that this guy is the next Maradona, huh? And this referee was so annoying, he destroyed the pace of the game by continually blowing his whistle so quick! Lopez a Japanese???Yes that red haired kid of Japan is a great player, where does he play? he desrves to play in Italy!!This Japanese team has a good chance for the 2nd round. If I am correct in predicting(now that's an oxymoron or what?) that Croatia would disappoint the second place is wide open. I am looking for great games in this group...
IMO, the Japanese never seemed psychologically broken
