Greg, what you said about Paul being basically a gnarly misogynist is very enlightening. It seems really strange that the whole literalist faction of Christianity would consider this mixed-up guy's ideas as the word of God. He may have said things that were profound, but maybe he just got lucky!! His comments about slavery and women certainly are not the words of any God I would want in charge of the universe!! The fact that the archaeologists question whether everything attributed to him is done so accurately is pretty amazing also, when you consider the influence he has over conservative Christian beliefs.
