Sigmund,

usenet is still very very popular because it is very addictive (just like SI newsgroup). But as I said, it is a total uncontrol area. You have to know how to judge the validity of the information. Anyway it is just another source of information, more important data is TRSTS chart, channel check... and the most important of all - the earning report. It is what make THQ shareholders rich :o)

Netscape Communicator has newsgroup feature, you may have the "browser only" version. If your ISP provide Unix shell account, you may use "nn" to browse the newsgroup else you must download the Communicator or IE with newsgroup option.

Sigmund, If you want to use Usenet it's
best to get a newsreader. There's a few
shareware versions you can download. I use
Agent, by Forte software. You should also
find out how many groups your ISP carrys.
It's best to get the full versions of the programs,
web browsers aren't made to make reading them easy.

Andy, good points on the posts in Usenet, lot's of trolls
and spam, but alot of people make decisions based on the posts.
You are right it's addicting, i've been at it for 6 years. I stay
away from IRC though:-)
