Thanks for the data, but I think your logic is flawed in as much as you are comparing a current p/e ratio to historical past. Using that logic 99% of the stocks out there are overvalued. Which reduces your comment to the following: The entire market is overvalued and therefore there is nothing (or very little) that is worth investing in at this time.
However, I believe the more appropriate analysis would be to compare cpq's historical p/e to historical industry p/e and then ask - was cpq historically 25% below the industry average? If not, then there is room for cpq to move its p/e up to industry average.
