Here is what a smart company should do... Buy a driller -- the whole company. Hell, buy two. Great cash flow that could be used to grow other business lines. The companies are very cheap right now. Lots of great assests that could be sold off to raise cash to help pay for the purchase (if needed). Great sector to raise high yield money...they market is red hot for these issues. Bonds secured only by assets should be a tasty morsel for some smart cookie. Things go bad...so what! Give the rigs to the bond holders. Forget mergers within the industry, I would like to see buyer from outside the industry buy these drillers and let the drillers get back to real business instead of trying to please wall street. big
