To all: Gas pipeline question somewhat OT

OK, mostly OT. I have a question to all on this, the best thread on SI, possibly anywhere. I was looking at buying a couple hundred acres of farmland for a vacation house. Everything looked good until I discovered that there is a 30 inch natural gas pipeline six feet underground that runs across the property. Can anyone tell me what the chance is of this thing exploding and what the potential damage could be based on distance. I figure its got to be like a nuclear blast. The guy at the pipeline company wouldn't be too specific but he said maybe I shouldn't get my heart set on this property. I really would like comments from someone in the industry or educated about these things.

Thanks in advance.
JD

I am swooping in again
because I keep waiting for a point to buy calls on the OSX since it was around 103 range
and I am still not comfortable

I just want to remind you all of John Bollinger a few months ago saying that this sector would tank more

dont know what he is saying right now
but you all might want to pay attention

if anyone hears I hope you will post it because he did call this

back to my P&F so I can enter the contest with my retail stocks
but I have to figure out a reason to justify them P&F wise ;-)
