Good point. The market capitalization of say Yahoo, for example, is not insignificant compared to CPQ.

Pakman2000, You got it. I have always felt that alta vista can be a co. unto itself just like seek yahoo,lycos, etc. In fact, I have counted it as one of the good assets from dec deal. I think cpq should start flying. I have nothing against dell, but where is their diversification? What happens if pc sales slow down considerably, cause people would like to service what they have and continue using them. Software is lagging behind hardware that people might say what do I need the latest gizmo for? Then cpq can hang in there with its service, alta vista, networking and its mini-computers of dec and tandem. Go cpq! peace and good luck! peacelover
