I know that I'm simplifying things here but take the time to compare the chart of asnd and coms below and notice the double/triple bottoms that have formed.

Although coms problems are more serious and are taking more time then asnd's, I believe that if coms delivers what the street wants to hear in the conference call regardless of missing this quarter by a reasonable amount (3-5 cents or so) then the downtrend will be broken and a powerful uptrend will begin.

Again a simplification but the similarities here should also be considered. As someone else mentioned before......coms will be already in it's uptrend (perhaps between $28 and $32) before it's potential as the #2 networker is again realized and before most of the little guys like us will get a chance to jump in on the long side.

I believe that coms will be closer to its next resistance ($27.5) than $24 (bottom support) before earnings. If earnings and the cc are favorable we will break through $27.5 until the next resistance level at about $32. If earnings are not so good but the conference call is pretty optimistic, then I believe we will form a triple bottom and base again for some time in between $24 and $27.

If BOTH the conference call and earnings suck then I could see us closing below strong support at $24. I don't think the latter will happen and I certainly don't think coms will close below $24 until earnings are announced and we are able to get some visibility on the near/long term future. That's why I bought Leaps when we were floating near $23 on Friday. I feel that from this level the downside is limited and the upside, in time should be very rewarding.
