dave--

well, if the MMs are dragging us down to pick up shares, they may have another chance tomorrow. the nikkei is at 14898 as i write this according to bloomberg, and the NDX on globex is down 8+.

when the talking heads on CNBC finally admit that they are wrong, we should go up. until then we are going to get dragged by asia.

its this simple....WE DONT EXPORT ENOUGH TO ASIA FOR THEM TO BE REALLY HARMFUL TO US IN ANY MEANINGFUL WAY. at any rate, the problems will be alleviated by all the cheap stuff we can import. thats the great thing about the 70s and the 80s...we couldnt compete with asia anymore so we stopped making the low margin goods. one sector that is going to feel some pain though is the car makers.

sorry, just had to rant a little.

good luck to all,
trey
