Muffy, feigning hyperventilation, collapsed into the strong arms of the rugged policeman. Rolling his eyes backward and thinking, "Oh, no, not another fainter", the policeman picked her up and carried her to the sofa by the kitchen door. He gently placed her on the sofa, smoothing her clothing as he did so.

She murmured something he couldn't quite hear. As he knelt down closer to her lips, she suddenly reached out and encircled his big strong neck with her arms, pulling her to him in a desperate move to get closer.

The policeman, stunned by the rapid actions, lost his balance and fell directly on top of her.

His partner came in the door at that moment. Awkwardly, he said, "Uh, Jeff ... that's not a good idea."

Embarrassed, Jeff stumbled to his feet.

The phone rang. As Jeff's partner went to answer it, Jeff's police walkie-talkie made some unintelligible noises.

Muffy, realizing she wouldn't get what she wanted out of either policeman, got up from the sofa. She picked up the piece of paper that had been left behind by TED ... or whoever it was, since it was apparently not TED.

A phone number? An account number? What was it?

Just 4 letters ... USAW. What could that mean?

"God" Muffy thought to herself, "what a night" It's like the Twilight Zone around here.

The police finally left, so she returned to her desk to finish working on her portfolios. Her eyes wandered to the copy of, "Broker's Eye On Wild Street" lying on her desk.

She suddenly started, her eyes bugging out as the headline flashed in front of her, "WILD STEET RAMPANT WITH RUMOURS ABOUT THE LONG AWAITED MERGER BETWEEN TED AND MUF, ANTICIPATION "RISING, USAW IS EXPECTED TO BECOME VERY UGLY"......
