The bell tolling for 3dfx ? Looks like the TNT is going to
kick some serious ass. Canopus, Elsa, and STB today announced their
Riva TNT based cards.

Here's a telling quote from Canopus' press release :

" Canopus plans to ... develop its next generation of 3D graphics
accelerators based on the RIVA TNT 3D processor technology. "

VooDoo 3?

You said:
"It's comforting to see that the competition can only bring out an equal or slightly better product to Voodoo 2 (on paper) about 6-9 months after TDFX. As long as they are gunnen' for "last years" leader we should be ok"

It took almost two years before the V1 was equaled. Now it's "6-9 months" for the "slightly better" TNT to more than double V2's performance. Now TDFX's engineers must be working feverishly just to equal the Glaze 3D's claimed performance. Remember, TDFX has the lock on Glide, not brilliant engineers.

Looking Forward to Short Term Events

Known TDFX Events On my Short Range Radar:

1) Russell 2000: (+ & -) First a rise then a sell-off? Going on now?
2) Banshee: (+ or -) Product release coming. One week?
3) Earnings: (+) First full quarter of VooDoo II sales, 0.50-0.75/ sh? Due July 15th.

There may be some I have missed.
