I think the low cost computers will boost the high end sales. I used to put computer systems together for friends as a hobby. They would tell me what they wanted and I would deliver a system to them. After using the system for a few months and finding out what can be done with a computer besides word processing they wanted to upgrade to a better system. The one exception was a guy who just wanted to do word processing and is still using the CP/M system I built for him. Phil Buy a piece of junk from Tiawan then upgrade to a DELL.
