Impressive. Equally impressive is the fact that Dell uses mainly Japanese suppliers for their Active Matrix LCD screens. I understand this is the singlemost expensive component in a laptop. With the dropping Yen, this means Dell's margins can bump up or neutralize a declining ASP. Better yet, Michael can buck the trend by holding his margins steady in order to pick up more market share.
Can anyone out there come up with any reason at all to challenge the concept that the industry's woes appear to roll off Dell like water on a duck?
