MT, I read Chainsaw Al's book and followed some of his past performance. In a nutshell, he takes oldline companies with a lot of non-book assets (depreciated factories, appreciated real estate) and guts these assets to produce a temporary earnings surge. Does same by gutting management and top technical people, a small temporary gain for which you pay a big price later.
