Juanita, I love how you look at the "big picture". Never would have thought about what you posted. Thanks!

Juanita, do me a favour. Why don't you do a little more research into trademarking and company names. Perhaps a good solicitor conversant in trademark and copyright laws can explain how it all works stateside.

Juanita,

On the same note, curiously, jhild spells favor - favour.

Hope

Nice post, Juanita.

I know that corporate law varies from State to State and Province to Province. As far as I know (limited to only to my knowledge of corporate law in my area) Mountain Energy in Nevada could do business in Vermont (if they wanted to). No conflict should to occur. All the Nevada Corporation needs to do is say "Mountain Energy Inc....doing business as XYZ Inc.". No incorporation required to satisfy name conflicts within another State, no conflict with any other corportion with the same name in any State/Province.

Many companies just incorporate under numbered companies so they can do business anywhere they want...."doing business as". Makes it cheaper and quite simple for them.

Anyone, please feel free to correct me if I am wrong. As I said I know only the corporate law in my own area.

Thanks,
Helene

P.S. Honor vs. Honour. Fluent typo spoken here? Or it is the Canadian/European way of spelling. Does it matter who is from where as long as we stick together by holding MTEI, which the MMs are having a great day with? Actually I haven't read the post where the spelling thing came up, trying to read the current posts first....then I'll do a little catching up.

Lets have a great day holding our MTEI!!!
