Japan PC shipments to rise sharply in H2 '98--IDC

TOKYO, June 15 (Reuters) - Japanese shipments of personal computers (PCs) for home use are expected to grow more than
20 percent year-on-year in the later half of 1998, market research firm IDC Japan Ltd said on Monday.

The robust growth in shipments would be prompted by the launch of Microsoft Corp's (MSFT - news) Windows 98 operating
system and by declining prices for PCs and related equipment, IDC said in a statement.

PC shipments for the home-use market in the quarter starting in July were expected to rise 20.6 percent from the same period
a year ago to 538,000 units, IDC said.

In the fourth quarter, shipments were expected to rise 25.5 percent from a year earlier to 594,000 units, it said.

Annual PC shipments for the home-use market were expected to total 2.13 million units, it said.

3,

I would use the same processor on a dual installation to avoid clock and other possible timing issues.

I've been wanting to ask this for a long time but I figured it was too stupid a question. Oh well, Be kind.
How does a "workstation": differ from having a computer with a monitor, modem, printer and cd?
