Dave,

Commodity prices are going down, and so is inflation in
general.

But what's most worrysome for Greenspan (when is this
guy not worried, right<g>) is that wages will go up
putting pressure on earnings and causing companies to
increase prices. He thinks if the economy speeds up
a little faster compared to Q1, which was very fast,
then unemployment will get so low, that wages have
to go up, and therefore create higher prices. That's
the idea.

Lots of people don't think this will happen, since companies
don't have any pricing power at all, making it too difficult
to raise peoples wages.

One thing that may change soon - the economic numbers
relating to production seem to be slowing down
because of ASIA, which might cause a few more layoffs,
and a slowdown in production, which the Fed would
interpret as a barrier to raising wages. This would
cause him to lower interest rates -- seeing the ASIA
problem become our problem (causing a slowdown in GDP)

We make $$ when people get laid off - weird huh?

Dave, do you know where I can locate the news about
Eric B. stating inventory is under control?

Also, do you know what our THREAD TURKEY - CRAWFORD is
talking about when he says there's more 3Com news?

thanks,

joe
