I'm stating to wonder if the problem with Qwest stock is due to a perception that there won't be a bandwidth shortage anytime soon due to announcements like ION and advancements with DWDM. I personally think application development will soak up any excess bandwidth, but could that be what's killing QWST stock lately?

Jack Grubman was on Wall Street Week on Friday. Grubman, from Saloman, reiterated a buy last week and is considered one of the top analysts for telecoms. Grubman was surprisingly bearish, said these long distance companies will do anything to get business, implying even to the point of cutting their own throats. He recommended only WCOM.

Looks to me like the mms are short for now. They run it down any chance they get. They might be accumulating for the inevitable run later, but it could be a while before that arrives.

Just my two-cents worth.
