256 colors is the '8-bit' setting Sean cautioned against, Ken.
Try 64-K (16-bit) colors if available.

Ken,

your color depth = 256 colors. change that # to 65,536 or more even it reducdes the screen resolution temporarily and then look at qp2 charts again. Do they still look dull??? If the answer is no, then you simply don't have enough colors available in the palete. Run with more colors and the problem will go away....

Hypersnap is a great program that allows you to caputer windows/areas and the whole screen under windows. Download it from the URL I posted to Peter.
