Remember the one about the camel and the eye of a needle? Funny how the "Christian Nation" crowd never cares to bring that one up.

No argument from me on that one. Contradictions seem to be ignored by many people when philosophically expedient.

The Sherman Act, at least, is pretty short and straightforward. Enforcing it has proved problematic, of course.

I would substitute "arbitrary" for "problematic". The Sherman Act is indeed pretty short, but intentionally vague in its lack of definition. Stringent enforcement would shut down the economy.

Anyway, hypothetically speaking, if the alternative to cynicism is adoration of a certain purveyor of crappy software, just because "Bill Gates is John Galt", I guess I'll have to live with it.

The alternative to cynicism is the advocacy of just laws. One doesn't have to adore Bill Gates or love Microsofts products to see the greater issue at stake.. Freedom should apply across the board and punishing business success should be outlawed completely, IMO.

And Bill Gates is not John Galt, BTW. Although if John had a little talk with Bill, it could lead to interesting developments. :-)
