My guess is that Quest has sold about 100,000 units by Sunday night, which works out to about ten per retail outlet. Ie, I'm staying conservative. Then add in 50,000 in sales to video rental stores. So I think we've sold 150,000 in the first half-week and have shipped 300,000-400,000. My quick take is that the game will sell 500,000 without any trouble. We'll see how sales go the next few months--if sales stay steady then we look for a million. Television ads start tonight.

<<<< I asked BF if they were as surprised about the non-renewal as we were. He said that they absolutely were and that WCW was not giving them all of the info so THQ was dealing in the dark <<<<<

I always felt it was something like this and posted to that effect many times. All that talk about how Farrell made a good decision seemed then to me to be silly and this shows that to be the case. This strongly suggests that he never had the chance to make a decision. I feel a lot better about it have read this. I just makes more sense than the other.

I think WCW will regret what they did. They would most likely have made more money renewing the license with THQI. This way, WWF will become the premier game product.

I certainly hope they use a fixed price for the conversion that is much higher than today's price. If you issue this with a "premium" to the stock price at time of issue, or with a premium at time of conversion...there is a big difference. The wording is key, otherwise the shorts will kill the stock. Take a look at Hayes computer company, these boneheads issued a convertible with at 15% discount conversion rate to the stock price. The ceo figured the stock was going to continue much higher, but the shorts shorted the stock agressively and drove it from $10 to $ 1 3/8 per share!!! Thqi appears to be issuing with a conversion at a premium to current price, question is we need more details. seems about a 10% dilution now, but if they invest wisely... thats ok.
