June 15, 1998 -- We've received a lot of calls this week from people trying to gauge the impact of the Alcatel/DSC merger on the Bell Atlantic contract with DSC/Westell for ADSL service. As you know, Bell Atlantic has announced deployment plans starting soon, and accelerating throughout 1999.

The ALA/DSC deal has a walkout if ALA's stock drops below $37.

Wishful thinking but I wonder what could happen if DSC walks..
