Alex, this statement you wrote reminded me of a magazine article I read last weekend. I don't remember exactly where, but that is not very important because it is the theory it espoused which is significant.

Anyway, the writer was suggesting that the reason most of the American public has such an enormous tolerance for Bill Clinton's sexual antics is that in our primitive brains we see him as the chieftain of our tribe, and all the sex is a display of power which has been very traditional since the beginning of time. And also, in a way, that the way he behaves gives our tribe high status vicariously. Did you know that there is a book in China called something like "The Sexy President Clinton" that makes the women giggle in bookstores when they see it? He is the alpha male of the world.
