Fnet to Operate Network in Bosnia with Megaburst
====================
FNet announced that it has purchased and will operate the eleven-site
satellite telephone network used by NATO troops stationed throughout
Bosnia. FNet purchased the equipment from Harris Telecommunications
Systems for an undisclosed amount. It will operate the network with US
based Megaburst, a technology engineering development firm. Megaburst will
be responsible for sales, marketing and in-country support. FNet will
operate the network and oversee billing, using its Tempest gateway system's
tracking and invoicing capabilities.

The Bosnian network stations and equipment were initially installed to
facilitate calls exclusively for NATO troops stationed in France, Great
Britain, Germany, Italy and the US. Megaburst teamed with Harris to
establish the NATO service, and reports that the network currently produces
revenues in excess of $100,000 per month. FNet and Megaburst will maintain
the NATO customer base, with plans to expand the service to include
commercial traffic for European industries.

FNet will commence operational responsibility for the network on July 1, 1998.

Megaburst provides engineering and development services for U.S and
European technology companies. The company is active in the coordination
of activities in the Balkans through its association with the NATO command
organizations and other non-government organizations.

have Internet access to use the service. Shell plans to offer the services
commercially, on a larger scale.

Glocalnet is a next-gen teleco that provides telecommunications and IP
networking technologies. Currently, the company is building a Pan-European
network for VoIP services. The network has POPs in Stockholm, London and
Amsterdam, with plans for POPs in Frankfurt, Paris, Zurich, Brussels and
Milan. By the end of the year, Glocalnet intends to have more than 2800
voice ports installed. The company is connecting its POPs via VPN technology.

Ericsson to Offer E-Commerce Solution
====================
Ericsson has announced the introduction of the Phone Doubler Quick Call
(PDQC), an e-commerce application that enables an Internet surfer to
initiate IP telephony communications with a call center agent using the

Telecom Technologies Introduces SS7 to IP Gateway
=========================
Telecom Technologies has announced the introduction of its Service Seven IP
(SSIP) gateway, an SS7 to IP gateway. The SSIP gateway provides network
interconnectivity for services including central office modem pools
(Internet off load devices) and VoIP systems. The gateway includes a
Bellcore certified mapping of SS7 to TCP/IP to enable the integration of
TCP/IP networks with the PSTN.

The SSIP features a call control application to enable network operators to
control the number of simultaneous calls to a specific destination, such as
an ISP, IP address, or trunk group. Call control protects the network and
allows an array of options for handling overflow subscribers. The SSIP's
scaleable architecture is designed to interface with a variety of data
networks including 10/100 Ethernet, FDDI and ATM. The product enables SS7
connectivity for Internet off load, VoIP, trunk based voice mail, IVR
systems and databases. It also provides support for ANSI SS7, C7 and TCP/IP
protocols.

Telecom Technologies is a provider of telecommunications software products
and professional services for SS7, AIN, LNP, local access service,
wireless, and high speed data communications.

TouchWave Adds VoIP Capabilities to its Gateway Product
====================
TouchWave has announced the availability of VoIP capabilities for its
flagship product, the WebSwitch 1608. The WebSwitch with VoIP enables small
to medium sized businesses to build company-wide phone systems that are
distributed across IP networks.

Each WebSwitch has 16 analog extension ports to provide support for 2,500
analog phones. The WebSwitch enables users to build distributed
communications systems across LANs or WANs. It can be deployed at any
point across a network and its distributed call management software will
link multiple WebSwitch phone systems together to form a single
company-wide phone system. The system implements a single directory
application and feature set for all geographical locations. It features
call transfer, call forwarding, H.323 support for interconnectivity with
Ethernet phones or PC phone clients, and it provides central management
from any location on the IP network.

An IP to PSTN gateway is not required to route calls via a LAN. LAN users
will dial an extension number to route a call to another WebSwitch and on
to the appropriate phone. Calls directed outside the corporate IP network
currently are routed over the PSTN, with plans for a voice compression
module to route calls across WANs.

Golden Line to Use ArelNet's Products for IP Services
=====================
Golden Line Network Services, a provider of international
telecommunications, has announced that it will deploy ArelNet's i-Tone
system to offer an Internet fax service dubbed i-Golden Tone. i-Golden Tone
will initially be available in the US, Europe, Asia, South America and
Africa. The second stage of Golden Line's plans will include the
international expansion of services and the implementation of a VoIP service.

The i-Tone voice/fax over IP solution utilizes a carrier grade
gateway/gatekeeper architecture to manage more than 6000 ports and more
than 1 million queries per day. It is H.323 compliant to provide
interoperability with other H.323 compliant products. The product employs
DSP based processing to support voice codecs such as G.711, G.723 and
G.729. It provides connectivity from phone to phone, fax to fax, or PC to
phone. In addition, it provides store and forward services such as PC to
fax, email to fax and fax broadcasting. Its modular architecture will
enable users to expand service functionality incrementally by adding
modules as needed.

Vienna Systems and ACC Introduce Carrier Grade Internet Telephony Gateway
====================================
Vienna Systems has announced that it has teamed with Advanced Computer
Communications (ACC), a provider of network access solutions, to develop a
gateway by integrating its IP Telephony technology and call processing
capabilities with ACC's Tigris family of multi-service remote access
concentrators (RACs). The integrated gateway is expected to deliver a
scalable, fault-tolerant IP telephony architecture that carriers can use to
deploy widespread voice services over the public Internet and private
intranets.

The gateway will be specifically designed to address a carrier's
requirements for high concentration points bridging the PSTN and IP voice
networks. The base product is expected to support up to 1500 ports per
shelf. In the gateway design, the companies plan to implement the
capability to interface IP networks and the PSTN with the Internet via T1,
T3, E1 and PRI connections. It will support call control through Vienna's
Call Processing Server and Services Control Node for dynamic call set-up,
routing and billing management. It will be H.323 compliant to ensure
interoperability with IP products from multiple vendors. The product will
feature the high density benefits offered in the Tigris RAC for scalability
and migration to emerging technologies, and a two gigabyte packet bus to
ensure low-latency packet transfers for voice applications and high-speed
backbone access via ATM. In addition, ACC's call by call technology will
enable DSP resources to be intelligently assigned to a variety of services
including voice and data services on a common pool of ports from a single
platform.

ACC is a manufacturer of integrated remote access and internetworking
products that provide cost-effective solutions for service providers and
corporate enterprise networks. ACC also develops VPN technologies and
solutions designed to address emerging applications for both public and
private networks.
